Happy Thanksgiving!!

Spending Thanksgiving in China is kind of a drag if you could imagine, when you're used to going to warm Arizona and being surrounded by happy, loving family for a week. Being here makes me ten times more grateful for spending holidays with family and listening to the cute laughs of my Aunt Kathy (oh how I miss her) while playing Hand and Foot. I miss my family more than anything and cannot wait to see everyone again!

China has made me thankful:

Thankful for my adorable aunts and grandma that cook Thanksgiving dinner for tons of people each year and do it happily with a smile on their face. I have never heard one of these woman complain about cooking for hours, just to fill our bellies. I got to be in charge of Thanksgiving dinner this year and you could say it was a mess. haha I have no idea how to cook and they don't have ovens…. sooo I kinda just winged it. Everyone ate everything I made and there weren't any leftovers so maybe it was successful?

Thankful for toilets.

Thankful for being able to make such good friends with people that I never would have imagined to exist. And they like to eat so it's a win win :)

Thankful for gyms at home because this is all I can afford here…

Thankful for a normal amount of people and not having to be in this traffic daily at home.

Thankful the Ugg boots went out of fashion in 8th grade and I don't have to wear fur.

Thankful for always having a full tummy. Even though a lot of it makes me gag I still always have something.

Thankful for this

Thankful for my ladies man and squirt.

China is teaching me how rich in blessings I am. I have so much at home to be thankful for and I hope that you guys can all realize how much we have. Now eat a lot for me, never stop hugging and keep those laughs loud. Happy Thanksgiving!!

xoxo

  2. Lucy, we spent 2 nights in Shanghai; one on our way to Japan and the other on our way home from Japan. The whole time we were there, I was thinking of you. The driving in China is CRAZY!! I now understand a Chinese fire drill! And when we got back, all we wanted was American Food! Bring on the fat-filled Cheeseburger from McDonalds!! I think you are amazing. China is a difficult place (based off of 2 nights...but still) and you are making it fun and making it yours. Not trying to be something you are not, but embracing it just the same. You are amazing!
